Остановились на Старом Арбате . Все понравилось : приветливые сотрудники , чистый номер и чистое постельное белье. Администратор ответила нам на все интересующие вопросы . Но есть несколько ноооо: подпортило впечатление о отели , когда уборщица выкинула нашу еду с холодильника , хотя подписано все было верно . Этот вопрос был не решён И хотелось бы , что бы вода в душе была теплее, а не комнатной температуры, и тапочки меняли каждый день.

We arrived very late but still were given the key as promised. The room was very small, but clean. Location is great, just 5 minutes walk from the Metro Smolenskaya. All cafes and restaurants are located right around the corner. If you are backpacker who will only need place to sleep this will be great for you. Not for luxury travellers!

The hotel is good, rooms are quite small but clean and comfortable. In the kitchen you can find pots an some accessories to cook meals . The building is situated 15 minutes walking from the closest metro station, between Pavelenskaya and Partizanskaya. 5 minutes from the bus stop to these metro station.Price is quite good if you accept to lose a bit of time to the transport.

Great location! Very nice staff! very small rooms(Had a not needed bed 2nd floor), shared bathroom, poor sound isolation.

It is a nice place to stay for one night with convenient location. But please notice that you will be charged additionally if you want to let your bags for a couple hours on reception after check out. Charge is 100 rubles for each (!) bag. It is not a good host :(

I got a room without window. it’s less than 30 cm between bed and wall, so it’s a bit tiny space to move around. all others, I quite like this place.

Хороший вариант для размещения на одну-две ночи. Удобное расположение, близко к Старому Арбату, до ближайшей станции метро 5 минут ходьбы. Номер маленький, скромный, но чистый и вполне уютный. Из минусов можно отметить плохую шумоизоляцию. В остальном хостел оставил положительное впечатление.

The room was super clean, bathrooms and toilets were super, clean and comfortable. WiFi was fast. Only thing: the room was to small and way to warm. No AC or window to open. This was a huge downside. Also we didn’t get the immigration paper which confused us. No problem at the border but the lady in the morning just woke up and wasn’t very eager to help. But the facilities perfect.

The space of the room it’s ridiculous!

Very good location in the center of Moscow just a few minutes walking to the red square. The hostel is located in the third floor of a new building with lift. The room was pretty small, there was not enough space to store the luggage inside.

The location of the hotel was really good. Less than 5 minutes from the station, and finding the entrance was not that complicated ! Staff was helpful and spoke English. The facilities were quite small and rare (2 showers for the overall hostel) but perfectly clean. In the room, the mattress was nice. Good overall price and quality ratio.

Почти всё хорошо. Расположение удобное, 2 минуты от метро, центр города. Внутри - чисто и аккуратно, электронные ключи, чистые качественные постели и полотенца. Всё необходимое оборудование есть - плита, микроволоновка, стиральная машина. Но именно на Смоленской есть один минус - под хостелом располагается бар для мажоров, и, соответственно, до 2 часов ночи от музыки вибрируют стены и пол. Если кому-то критично - обратите на это внимание.

Great location. I stayed for 5 days. The line for the bathrooms can be very long in the mornings depending on the occupancy. The rooms are small but serves the purpose if you are only looking for a place to sleep. The WiFi is great.

I would call it a hostel but the other guests and staff made it a great experience for me and my son for the semi final...

The rooms are too small and it’s not what I booked. You also charged me more for an upgrade. Your staff needs to speak English to communicate with people from all over the world. It’s also a hostel not a hotel so don’t advertise it as a hotel. It was clean and location was great. Your staff was friendly except your manager who speaks English was a little rude telling me I made a mistake when booking the room or blaming booking.com for the mistake.

1) Кровать громко скрипела при ворочании. 2) Подушки слишком высокие. Удалить часть наполнителя из уже имеющихся подушек, не покупая новых, было бы прекрасным решением. Те люди, которым не жаль своего позвоночника (в данном случае его шейного отдела), просто могли бы спать на двух подушках. 3) Туалетов было мало, и образовывались очереди. Хотя я допускаю, что в отеле оказалось народа сильно больше, чем обычно, из-за ЧМ. 4) Почему-то только один крючок на стене. Они и стоят копейки, и места на стене достаточно... Полотенца пришлось кое-как развешивать на кровати. 5) У туалетов снаружи отсутствует четкая индикация занятости, что более-менее приемлемо в каком-нибудь торговом центре, но раздражает в отеле, так как (опять же из-за большого количества людей и малого количества туалетов) регулярно кто-то долбится. В остальном все понравилось: формат отеля, локация, стоимость, доброжелательная девушка на ресепшене.

The manager of this facility fell asleep around 1 am so I could not get into the main entrance. Other than that, I fully enjoyed my trip at this place.

Staff are so nice, very patient answer my questions. Help me call 103 when I was sick. And translate my situation to the doctor. Also help me buy some foods and drinking water. I was so thankful.

The staff is very nice and talkative. He knows different language including Chinese, English and Russian, so don’t worry about that it will be a problem on communication. You also will have a comfortable stay as, the room, pantry, toilet and bath room all are clean.

Es pequeño y es dificil de encontrar. El personal es muy amable y se esfuerza mucho pero apenas hablan ingles. La ubicacion es buenisima. Simpre hay cafe ,toallas limpias gel y productos de higiene a tu disposicion.

Bathromms were really clean! You can use for free their washing machine. Comfy bed. The receptionist was great.

small room- it is not enough space for people in it when you put your luggage inside, too thin walls- we hear everything what other people was talking about in their rooms- it was difficult to sleep. I miss common place- where we can sit and speak with other guests. eat, watch tv, rest.

Rooms are clean and the location is top but there is no windows in rooms, these lasts are very tiny. The employees can speak English, one receptionist is very nice while the other is not... And very cold

The stay was good, more or less what i needed. Main problem: With private room advertised on airbnb I expected something different. And the noise is the biggest issue. The small rooms and thin walls are very loud and make it impossible to get a good rest!! I guess you can't change that, but please mention that in the roomdiscription! Thx

Rooms without windows are something really hard! People can get crazy if would live for long time. The rest is OK.

Everything is OK

Winterfell on New Arbat was an extraordinary experience. The administrators were all helpful and friendly to me. Especially administrator Liza. She was extremely helpful and made me feel welcome and comfortable. Liza was also very positive and always friendly to all her guests. She is extremely hard working and patient when the hostel became busy. Overall, the hostel on New Arbat is near metro station, Smolenskaya, and shopping centers and food courts. This hostel is also very near Red Square and can easily manage to walk there in less than 20 minutes. Also, if you are an American, the U.S. Embassy is about 7 min. walking distance. The hostel itself is very clean and unique. It is decorated in the style of Game of Thrones and unique in appearance. The hostel has a kitchen with working washing machine, refrigerator, and essential appliances. The bathrooms are separate from showers and very clean and spacious. Overall, the people that I met during my stay at Winterfell on New Arbat were friendly to me. I met people from all over Russia and even a family from Belarus. The people were all to curious where I was from. It was special for them to know that I was from America, even more from California. They were all to curious as to why was I in Russia during winter. I loved the interaction with the people staying at Winterfell. This is an experience I will truly miss. I want to thank everyone at Winterfell on New Arbat and to continue the great work you are all doing! Thank you.

The bed sheets and the duvet were a bit small for the double-bed. Even if the amount is rather symbolic, it's a pity to have to pay for leaving pieces of luggage after check-out time

I would recommend english speaking staff. The staf need also be informed about prepaiment with creditcard. We had to pay again at arrivel and later had to ask ut back which was a bit difficult with no english speaking staff

The beds are comfortable. The staff speaks English and was very friendly. The hotel is at a great location and you can walk anywhere or grab a taxi real easily. A real hybrid between a hotel and a hostel. Solo travelers will like it. Finding it was a little tricky. It is behind the building off the street. There is also a code to enter the building which is nice for security but was confusing at first.

Los baños (retretes) deben arreglarlos,cambiarlos porque estan dañados no se puede sentar,dejar algun desinfectante en spray para que cada persona lo use porque aunque lo limpiaban por la mañana, los huespedes lo dejaban sucio por la tarde o inmediatamente; y las camas deben cambiar el colchon porque se sienten mucho los resortes. El personal fue amable y siempre colaborador.

The best aspect of your hotel was its location. Very friendly and helpful staff, but did not speak English well (fortunately I speak some Russian). Toilets and shower cabin clean, but I think nobody emptied the rubbish from our room within the whole week. General impression positive and good value for money.

It is a fine place, specially because near at this site there are interesting places where it is possible to enjoy and eat interesting things: metro stations and so on. Very quite and safety area. The restaurant-discotec with latin music that is near to this hotel is just perfect. Thanks for attending and being helpful. We enjoyed our stay, there was just the air conditioner in our room that made us ill.

One big negative aspect was that the girl that welcomed us didn't speak english AT ALL. Working in a hostel that's a huge minus.

I visited Moscow for a two day seminar, and Hotel Retro was a perfect place to stay - comfortable bed, hot shower, good Wi-Fi and place to work. I have already recommended it.

Camerele sunt destul de mici, pozitionate la subsol. Paturile sunt supraetajate si nu este lumina naturala. Personalul nu cunoaste limba engleza. Este destul de curat si aproape de metriu. Ca reper luati ambasadia Latviei.Hostelul se afla in curtea unei scoli si este cam greu de gasit!

The air conditioner is very loud, it feels like sleeping in an airplane. Also there is meldew at the ceiling of the showers. This could be easily avoided if the air conditioner stays always switched on in the bathroom area.

The only thing I would suggest is a better map to find the hostel inside the courtyard. We circled a few times until we found it. Otherwise, perfect location and great service. Would definitely come back again!

Bien situado y personal muy amable.

Everything in general was acceptable except for the terrible noise that a pipe made all night long inside the room, that made our rest awful and almost impossible.

Deberían avisar que es un subterraneo, sin ninguna ventana, pues hay gente que se puede agobiar por eso. Por lo demás sitio muy limpio y cerca de la Plaza Roja y varias estaciones de metro. A tener en cuenta la hora de check-in nuestro vuo se retrasó y a pesar de tener la reserva hecha no nos dejaron entrar en la habitación, simplemente tuvieron el detalle de guardarnos las maletas y invitarnos a salir de allí y caminar por Moscú toda la noche hasta las 14:00del día siguiente. Eso si, esa noche tuvimos que pagarla igual al dia siguiente. Para rematarla nos querían hacer irnos un día antes de allí, y con malos modos. Y aún enseñanzado la factura pagada y la reserva ni una disculpa recibimos. Buen sitio para quien le guste la aventura.

Very lovely place with the wonderful staffs. You get feeling like you are at home. Rooms are small and isolation is not perfect, but no noise neighter other forms of discomfort. And the great LOCATION - you are in the Center, close to all famous places and at the same time the street Pokrovka is very quiet. If you travell alone and would come close to people it is the very good place to stay. And cheap.

I went on my own althought i have booked a double room, what was nice. For 2 people i think it would be too small. The room had no window, but i knew that on upfront and i did not felt any discounfort! Being a solo traveller, i did miss the true hostal environment because it was generally local people that lives there. People was nice, it was quiet to sleep and overall it was a good experience. The location is excellent, very close to Chistye Prudy metro station and i must say that i fell un love by Moscow. At the hostal they have also arranged a taxi to drive me to the airport, and the taxi driver was a very friendly person. I will comeback for sure, maybe not to the hostal because i have made some friends, but if needed retro moscow is a good option. Good relation quality/location to price! Я❤️Москву

Una de las chicas del staff, muy amable y atenta,aunque no hablaba inglés, la otra no tanto. La limpieza de las áreas comunes podría haber sido mejor, aún así estaba en general presentable. La habitación un poco pequeña, pero la relación precio calidad es correcta. Estuvimos una semana, y la habitación no fue limpiada nunca desde que nos la entregaron. Aun así la estancia fue muy buena.

Staff should speak english! It was imposible to comunicate, making everithing very annoying and complicated.

The hotel itself is fine, but the front desk girl is very rude and not friendly. Since my arrive at 8:00 AM ( out of the check-in time) she was absolutely upset about the fact that I made her wake up "so early" to leave my luggage in the hotel, before the check in time (at 14:00). Later, she was upset also, because I came back to the hotel to pick up some stuff of my luggage, luggage that was still with her, -since my room was not ready yet. Finally, during the check-in, she seemed not to know very well the procedure while someone makes an on -line booking, and she was trying to charge me more money than I had to pay, despite that I explained that I already made a deposit, and despite that I showed her my booking in my phone. To me, she does not have ANY idea about client service, or experience as a front desk girl.

Two of the shower doors need fixed, and it would be recommended to find a way of providing drinking water. Also the standard bedrooms with the larger lower-mattresses make the rooms incredibly tight with no space for things.

Overall impression is okay, if considering the value for the money, it's almost excellent.

I think the hostel is well taken care of. Some slight improvements would be good: the table in my room was not usable, the lower bed sheet was too small, and the bed mattress had two sections which made it a bit uncomfortable. One more thing: the hostel entrance is difficult to find.

Positive: Staff was always available and very helpful (lady, but not the guy who was not available). The location is great. We were very happy to find out that there is free tea and coffee (+ sugar). Bad: The door of most showerooms cannot be locked or closed. Often, there was no toilet paper in several bathrooms (and staff do not put new one systematically, you need to ask them everytime). If you need to shower in the morning, there is no hot water most of the time because the water tanks are too small. The sound isolation is very bad, we can hear conversations outside the room clearly, and it disrupted our sleep.

Overall everything was ok. I think recommend this нotel my friends, because the price matches the quality.

The hotel is very good for limited budget travellers, nice room, areas and toilets. I had problem to find the hotel, as the map in booking.com show a slightly wrong place, and there is no signal showing where is the hotel. I almost gave up and tried to book other hotel when I arrived due to the difficult to find it (almost 1 hour walking through the street). The wifi connection was excellent.
